I love how the boy is designed. And I can tell you now it is quite tricky to find the sweetspot (the sharp area) but it is well worth it.

The part on the ship could have been a bit shorter or faster paced. It makes sense it wasn't since it conveys the 'ordeal' or the annoyance of such a long travel. But I wouldn't have needed all that much. This time I also didn't get so emotionally involved in the story, but that was to be expected since the first one caught me unawares and this rarely happens anyway.

I still enjoyed the story a lot. It is a relaxing and quick read. And I have started in book 3.

Naomi Novik: His Majesty's Dragon

His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik

I love this. At first I it really reminded me of "How to Train your Dragon" but then, the whole Man-meets-dragon-and-forms-bond-for-life Story isn't really new. That is was set in the past of Britain/Europe I didn't like at first but I was quickly won over.

It might be that I am a horse-person, but I immediately took to Temeraire and the other dragons. I want one. It's like a horse but cooler. *lol*

I am also not ashamed to admit I was moved to tears by the end of chapter 1. This happened only on rare occasions before, such as TLOTR. Levitus broke my heart (naturally I wanted to adopt him too).

I have ordered the next 2 books and don't know whether I should wait for them to arrive to continue reading the series or read something in between. Mh.

Anyway, I read it in 3 days, it has 350 pages. This is extremely fast for me and I haven't dug into a novel as happily as I have with this one. I'd like to add more stars now please.

Concert: 30 Seconds to Mars

Uncle: "He's coming here!!!"
I: "Whut? WHUT? WHUT?????"

This happened during "The Kill" which started off as acoustic and then turned into the 'normal' song and suddenly he jumps of that tiny stage and runs up the stalls and straight at my uncle and me. I was holding the photo and was completely unable to deal. *Lol*

And then Jared Leto stood 20 cm in front of me and the following thoughts ran through my head simultaneously:

1. Whut?
2. Dude, shave your armpits for crying out loud!
3. Whut?
4. OMG he's tiny.
5. Uhm.
6. Shit that security guy's leg is bigger than me.
7. Ribcage, I could just reach...

And then he was gone, leaving me in a hysterical puddle of fangirly ridiculousness (there went my cool) because he is sooo pretty. It has to be said even though he annoyed the FUCK out of me for starting 2 fucking hours late. I was already exhausted before it even began.

But he seemed to be in a good mood and completely different from Oberhausen. The crowd was so great (Mannheim, I knew you wouldn't disappoint).

I have maybe slept (if one can call it that) for 4 hours (optimistic estimate). I shall now start searching youtube for videos. I hope I am not in many because I surely look like someone who hasn't taken her medicine this morning and is now losing it. But well... these things happen.

Journalling

200-something (2004?) Lord of the Rings-daily planner

 In my daily planners I always aim for structure. I am a very structured person. I love to plan. I rely on visuals, therefore I set out with various colors.  For instance, I marked probably important stuff in orange (this was in my final years at University). However, then more colors come along and it ends up a mess.

Exhibit B and C. I always mean so well and then end up confusing myself. I especially love the use of random arrows which surely made perfect sense at the time (this was during me studying to be a drama educator).

Agatha Christie: The Man in The Brown Suit

I don't like to read crime novels because the only thing interesting to me is the beginning and then the end. The middle part is just in the way. I don't try to figure out who did it while reading. I just wanna be told already.

That out of the way, the novel is my first Agatha Christie read. I bought it for 80c in a sale. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought one ever. I have seen a lot of the movies and enjoyed them a lot.

And now I can happily add, that I might just pick up some of her other books. Because I really enjoyed myself. I quite liked the heroine, even though she is a bit dated in certain characteristics (love, marriage, men-women), but in others she is quite modern and I liked that. I also loved Sir Eustace and his sense of humor.

I didn't much care for the love story because it didn't feel real to me. But I also don't like e.g. "Gone with the Wind" because it is just too much. So that might be just me.

It is also an easy and quick read, I think. And entertaining without forcing you to think much (but you could, if you tried to solve the murder.. which I didn't do.).

Wedding photography

I got the opportunity to shoot another wedding (am I using this expression wrong? It always makes me cringe. As if I was heading there with a gun or something equally evil.) at the Burg Guttenberg. The weather was a bit bitchy but we managed to squeeze in and finish the portraits just until a huge thunderstorm arrived to do its job.

Ich hatte wieder das Vergnügen auf der Burg Guttenberg eine Hochzeit zu fotografieren. Wir wurden gerade rechtzeitig fertig bevor ein Gewitter losging und uns in die Wirtschaft getrieben hat.

Movie: Buried

Watched Buried yesterday and I really really like that movie. Ryan Reynolds just got upgraded to "pretty but kinda lame boy" to "oh he can act". Also, the director deserves all the awards. Anyone can make a movie about blue people or cars that change into aliens. But to make a movie about a man in a box and never leave that box and have my attention all the way through? Not easily accomplished. The ending had me yelling at the screen because it was so intense.
