This is what happens when I bring the cats a present. First they are asleep. This is what they do all the time.
Then Leeloo investigates.
Then she claims it as her own. (Best photo ever btw. *lol*)
Wesley then decides it is safe to have a look as well. Which Leeloo isn't very fond of. She saw him coming and then went 'meh'.
And of course, Wesley isn't allowed in.
But he doesn't mind so much.
And now, the bed is being ignored by the both of them.

I love heels. The higher the better. And I love the fact that platforms are back. I aim to buy some like the ones above (anyone wanna book me for a shoot? *g*).
I first bought these though:
They sadly don't fit so I have to send them back.
And out of nostalgia a comparison of platforms back and today. Back means around 1995. I kept them out of.. uhm.. nostalgia.
On the left my favorite shoes as I was 16 I think. You can see they have seen better days. And on the right to compare my current favorite shoes. It all comes back in fashion. My mom wore the most awesome platforms in her day (I want her clothes dammit) and then I did as a teenager (well maybe not awesome but still) and now here they are again.. just minus the boot-cut jeans (good I miss those).
Anyway. Soon a new post with the shoes I swapped for the ones I had to send back. Hopefully they'll fit.

This is the beautiful cover. I have wanted to read it before it was even published.
I loved those two pages. The photographs are wonderful (and I simply love her on that balcony.. and reading...and Truman Capote's face is so adorable *g*)
Two examples of journal entries. I can understand so much of what she writes about in her quest for self-understanding. She tried to win the struggle against her depression or borderline syndrome (or whatever exactly she had). She was brave and smart and she confronted her issues. And I admire that because it takes a lot of guts, trust me on that one.
I think (and hope) that she will be seen differently. No longer the dumb blonde. Because clearly she was not. She was more complex and btw, show of hands everybody: who has read James Joyce: Ulysses? She has.
I love that book, it isn't easy to digest and I'm not sure that she would have wanted the world to see her that raw. She always seemed to try to hide her 'flaws', she wanted to be perfect and feared (and believed) she was the opposite. But still, it isn't a read to quickly forget.

Not just the coolest dude on Earth and one of the best actors we currently have. But also a generally great artist and photographer. Don't believe me? Head over to his homepage and look around. The homepage alone is worth a look. (too lazy to browse? Just look here for the design, here for the adorableness, and enjoy the True Grit photos).
Also, he is in some of the coolest movies. He is the Dude fcol and now, stop reading my blogpost and have some fun over on his site. :-)

Probably my favorite shot.
looking up a house
in the backyard of said house
My verdict: yes please. I have already put in a color film. Scanning is a pain in the behind and finding a lab that can develop is also something I have to do.

I bought the 35 mm back for the Diana, which enables me to shoot 'normal' film and not just rollfilm. This is a money saver. It also means I can choose between 4 formats and for my first roll of film I chose the panoramic one with sprocket holes.
Downside: no viewfinder. Because it is working more or less with square format, but not with the rectangular of the 35 mm film. Therefore in the shot above, I am barely visible and were my face would be, is a sprocket hole.
Congratulations dear self. :-)

I ordered MM Personal because I wanted to get a different take on Marilyn. This book definitely provides it. It is clear and well-structured. The author is a university professor which is reflected in the style (complete with footnotes, thank you very much) and I always appreciate when references are given.
The content is very personal (letters, receipts, photographs), but not as personal as The Audrey Hepburn Treasures. It demystifies Marilyn Monroe in a way, shows her as a business woman, a wife, a loving stepmother and an abuser of drugs and alcohol. It doesn't point fingers, it just shows you: look, this is what we found and it could be interpreted as such. Make up your own mind.
To me, Marilyn just got real. She is no longer the undervalued actress, this beautiful woman. She is a woman. Period. And I love her all the more for it.

My lovely friend Sam went to London and bought me a DVD. I love Patrick Stewart and David Tennant and Hamlet and I love the adaptation and I'm just happy. Thank you again Sweety!
