still here

I have just one photo of my beloved lilac tights to post because I actually did shoot film the last days. One photo per day. I cannot wait to have it developed. Also, I am booked for two weddings (if all goes well) and I am so exited about this. I had a busy week and life is good. And now I need to go eat lunch. And then take a loooong walk in the forest. I need some air.

I am also sad about Dennis Hopper passing away. He was such a talented artist. I am in love with his photography and hope to get my hands onto a book of his in the future.

Do you have any tips on which photography book I should own?

new photos

Alrighty.... images of spring (after so many days of rain) and Anton, feeling the need to cuddle.

I have decided to shoot one film for the next 36 days... let's see if I adhere to it or shoot digital (since it's my dad's birthday tomorrow I might actually not stick to the plan...). But to be honest I need to learn to look for shots. I have the feeling I am not paying enough attention, but shooting analog focuses me. I like that.

best photoshoot ever

Manu asked me to take photos of her. And she gave me her Canon Eos 5d II. We mounted the 50 mm f1.4 lense on it and set off. I indulged my love for solar flares and think Manu is just stunning.

the missing photos

Where did last week go???? What happened was boredom, ambition, doubt, new glasses, frustration, a walk and a puppy. Not mine sadly.

The present I bought my dad for Father's Day:

And Anton, again. Because he is just too fantastic.

I went and bought me new glasses. I'll have to wait for one week to collect them but I am so happy about them. I find it difficult to find glasses which are small enough for my small face and the new ones are perfect. Plus I've had my current ones for 5 years now. It's about time.

Furthermore I am working on novel #2. I know exactly what I have to write. Which makes it impossible to do so. I find it much easier when I have no clue where I'm going. Oh well. It'll be done eventually.

old gems

I've spent the last week filing through all my stored photographs to build up my portfolio. And I stumbled upon three photoshoots I have done years ago.

This one is from my very first conceptual shoot with the wonderful Manu. I think we did it back in 2007?

Then these are both from 2008. Pia and Lynn who are both amazing.

So, do you have any hidden gems? If so, I'd love to see them.

Yesterday was my cousins fifth birthday party. This is a shot of the birthday table.

Today we thought we'd go to a stable which held a riding tournament. Except as we arrived the world decided to drown in torrents of rain... I wasn't happy.

new photos and another book read

The day before yesterday evening I went to my friend Mattis' rehearsal. He is directing his first little at the Schnawwl theater (he is doing a course) and he asked me to come by and have a look. So I did and he really impressed me. It was also great to be backstage at the Schnawwl theater again, have old fond memories resurface and meet some of the people.

Yesterday, however, was like this, due to constant raining:

So I got a lot of reading done and I finished John Barrowman's biography (part 1).

Anything Goes: The Autobiography Anything Goes: The Autobiography by John Barrowman

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1. He is my hero and I now love him even more.
2. We need to celebrate Christmas just like he seems to do.
3. I cannot get the image of him hanging rather flexible from a tree out of my head...
4. I need to work in theater. I really really really need to.

-> I loved it and I didn't mind that he jumped from one event or time to the other. Maybe I work like that too. I'd find a chronological approach rather dull. *thumbs up*

Book review

Eric (Discworld, #9) Eric by Terry Pratchett

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This one was again lots of fun. I love Rincewind and I read it when I needed a good laugh and lots of sarcasm. *thumbs up*

Interesting Times (Discworld, #17) Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This one was okay. What personally took some of the fun out of it was the obvious hint at HungHung being set in 'Asia' and then he ends up in Australia. This takes out some of the magic and mystery because it was too obvious. But maybe that's just me.

One of the dogs of my Goddaughter was pregnant and the baby was due today. It's the Chihuahua who had already had babies and the second pregnancy wasn't planned. Anyway. The baby  apparently got stuck during birth and suffocated. Now everyone is in distress (the dog, the family) and it sucks. So we took one of the other dogs, Luna, for a walk because she needed it (they don't really take her out as much as they should). Here is a shot.

Yesterday I spent the day with my Goddaughter. This is her trying to reach up into a willow. I love willows.

This one shows my new shoes and old pair of pants, which I can finally wear. I have owned these pants for probably 5 years and have not worn them once due to the lack of fitting shoes...
