# 53 & # 54

I'll embark on a journey soon. In a matter of speaking anyway. So the photos fit.

Stepping out of the comfort zone so to speak. Focusing manually and playing with exposure and shutter speed. Trial and error. This is one result and I like it because it is kinda vague but also looks sad.

today's photo

My hamster died. PaulNewman. Can't tell you how sad I am. So here is the photo of today, his untouched food.

He was 2, 5 years old and the cutest little thing in the world.

the missing photos

Computer problems and having two teeth surgically removed led to internet abstinency. But here are the last photos.

First a church next to the dentists, then I felt like random drawing and yesterday I sort of recovered from teeth surgery.

Leeloo and Wesley got a new toy. And Leeloo got a little bit carried away. I think I should take her as an example and play a little more while really enjoying it.

I think I am confused if today really is #45... well anyway, I went for a stroll this morning through the neighborhood. I stopped at the fountain on the market place and took this photo. Looks as if they aren't too pleased with the current weather conditions.

Today the spotlight is on my old hamster PaulNewman. He isn't really eating much of his hamster food, so we feed him lots of carrots, which he enjoys. Otherwise he is fine, he is just getting old.

This is an x-ray of my teeth. You can say goodbye to the 2 last remaining wisdom teeth because in March they will be surgically removed. I DON'T WANT!! I am scared shitless. The worst thing to happen is to have a tooth cut out. Or in my case: 2. But it seems the one is sort of getting inflamed and that is not good either. :-((

Collected the film today and scanned in some photos. It was an expired film used on a leaky slr, so the result is blurry and a bit screwed up. Just as I like it. So here are the missing photos.

This one is a digital one and I shot it today out of my snowed in window. I live directly under the roof and currently I see nothing at all but white.

This one is one of the analogue shots. I quite like it because I have never taken a shot like that before.

Finally, the last one. Done over a week ago. I desaturated it, but in the colored original you can see the light leaking in. The photo is bright red where it hit the film but I liked the mood of the B/W version better.

So, here we go.

I am also working on a project. I hope this will turn out as great as it is in my head. I'll let you know more once I have worked out all the kinks.

Book review

Titus Andronicus - Arden Shakespeare (Arden Shakespeare Third Series) Titus Andronicus - Arden Shakespeare by Jonathan Bate

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Yes it is violent, cruel, merciless. But why all the fuss? Sarah Kane wrote only plays in that fashion -only less poetic. The scene that really got to me the most, was Marcus' speech after Lavinia's rape. The beautifully written poetic speech which is so vital to understand the monstrosity of the assault. It says in the Intro that it was often cut or left out when the play was performed. I really don't see why. And I really want to see it on stage some day.

Alriiight. Since my laptop decided to die on me on Sunday and I had to spend 5 hours of desperation to get it to boot again so that I could save some stuff, I couldn't post any photos. I still don't trust its performance again and the next purchase will be an external harddrive.

Anyway. On to the photos.

First: flowers! The first one's I saw this year. Just a simple shot.

Then I thought I could take photos of my  'healing stones'. Occasionally I decide to believe in their assigned power. Plus: pretty to look at. So here is a photo of one of them, the Heliotrop.

This one I shot one hour ago, as I was looking out the window. So much for flowers...

Today my parents and I went to the wedding of the brother of my goddaughter's dad.

This made my day. The church is pro gay-bondage. Go Catholics! :-p

Oh this was what I was started out wearing. Note how my hair curled. Not.

I say started out because at first the 'hairdo' came undone and then I started stripping down because it was stifling in the location. *lol*

The bride and groom.

ooopsss
I was winding back the film and it seems I have ripped it apart and I am now quite unsure if it did transport correctly because I was done pretty quickly with the winding back. The disadvantages of working with old equipment...

Yesterday's photo. The little guy sits on a neighbour's garage. The picture before and the one of today are done on film, so I have to wait til it's developed.

Furthermore:

Pride and Prejudice Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I managed to finish it. Took me one month (okay I also read Neil Gaiman short stories in between but still a long time). I think it took me so long because I know the series so well. But it is so much fun to read nonetheless. Mr.Darcy is just to die for (gotta love Colin Firth even more now) and I wish I could write like that. Jane Austen was just amazing.

Since I cannot say anything that has not been said before, I shall leave it with simply stating that I really really enjoyed reading the novel.
